Former Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell suffered a crucial blow earlier this week.
Raiders’ RB Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles during a workout with the team Monday and is out for the season, per source. Crowell will undergo season-ending surgery next week. Brutal blow for a player who signed a one-year contract with Oakland.

This is tough news for Oakland, who recently offered a one-year contract to Crowell and were likely to rely heavily on the running back as they slowly work in their highly touted first-round pick, Josh Jacobs.
Injuries are terrible things, but this does pave the way for the former Alabama star to take over the bulk of the carries.
Josh Jacobs is setting up to have a big, big rookie season. There’s absolutely no one on the #Raiders who can challenge him for snaps now that Crowell is out for the year. #NFLDraft #FantasyFootball

Jacobs is quite the feel-good story. In fact, all of his scholarship offers stem from highlights that he posted through social media.
Unfortunately, this may be this end of the line for Crowell. For a 26-year-old, an Achilles tear can spell the end for an NFL running back. If this is indeed the end for Crowell, he will no doubt be remembered for this touchdown celebration against the Browns last season.
