President Donald Trump asked Congress on Wednesday to allocate $4.5 billion in emergency funding to address the overwhelming influx of migrants attempting to cross the southern border into the United States. Though the request asked for funds to provide housing, food, and medical care for unaccompanied children and migrants in custody, and does not include funding for a border wall, it is still not expected to pass the Democrat-controlled House.
