The decision by lawmakers, and the governor, in Alabama this week to outlaw almost all abortions still, days later, is triggering abortion advocates.

And they’re revealing how important they think their opinion is by PUTTING IT IN ALL-CAPS.

And repeating it.

Those messages on Twitter can be much more emphatic now, since the company doubled the character limit from 140 to 280.

Some apparently think that’s a minimum.

The Alabama law makes it a felony for someone to perform an abortion. And it was adopted specifically to create a challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision from the Supreme Court that created the right to abortion.

Social media aggregator Twitchy noted that, “Alabama may have finally broken the ACLU. And Georgia. And Kentucky. And Ohio…

“When they say ‘all’ do they mean men too?”

The ACLU’s standard was easily matched by many commenters:

Jon Lacey, responding to the ACLU’s starting message, summed up the sentiment:

“If you’d only pasted it 10 times I’d have wondered if you were serious. But 11? On board.”

But Christopher Doehling perhaps had a more directly applicable conclusion: “It if sounds awful once, repeat until desensitized.”
