Donald Trump Jr. smacked Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday after the U.S. House speaker said she “prays” for President Donald Trump.

“Well, listen, I don’t think the party of infanticide is exactly praying for anyone. That’s not what they do. We get that,” mocked the eldest Trump son during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

Pelosi made the remark regarding Trump on Wednesday after a meeting initially intended to be about infrastructure didn’t go as smoothly as planned. Trump expressed anger over the meeting, telling the press that Pelosi was accusing him of a cover-up, according to RealClearPolitics.

“For some reason, maybe it was lack of confidence on his part, that he really couldn’t match the greatness of the challenge that we have, wasn’t really respectful of the reason — of the Congress and the White House working together,” the Democratic leader said of Trump. “He just took a pass. And it just makes me wonder why he did that.”

“In any event, I pray for the president of the United States. And I pray for the United States of America,” Pelosi added.

Don Jr.’s retort about infanticide was in reference to Democrats’ extreme position on abortion. In January, embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, seemed to openly endorse infanticide during a radio interview on WTOP’s “Ask The Governor.”

“When we talk about third-trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of the mother, with the consent of physicians, more than one physician by the way, and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus which is non-viable,” said Northam, as previously reported by The Daily Wire. “So in this particular example, if the mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if this is what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physician and the mother.”

Republicans responded to the horrifying remarks by Northam and the general craze of extremist abortion-till-birth legislation pushed by Democrats by proposing bills to ensure medical care to born-alive babies from botched abortions — effectively putting Democrats on the record regarding infanticide. As of April 2, House Democrats refused to pass such protections 25 times, and Democrats in the Senate blocked such measures twice, LifeNews reported.

Democratic presidential candidates are similarly extreme on the issue of abortion. “A recent analysis from Politico specifically stated that no 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have come out against ‘late-term’ abortions and that most of the candidates support no restrictions — which means they support allowing abortions all the way up until the moment of birth — even though they may try to avoid the issue by being too vague,” outlined The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra earlier this month.

And just as the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton supported federally funded abortions, so do 2020 contenders. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), for example, has repeatedly expressed support for stripping the Hyde Amendment, which protects U.S. citizens from funding abortion via federal taxpayer dollars.
