(TOWHNALL) – President Trump announced Thursday afternoon longtime White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders will be leaving her position at the end of June.

Before joining the administration, Sanders worked on the Trump campaign and was promoted to press secretary after former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer left in 2017.

In recent months, the White House has ended the practice of press briefings in favor of press conferences, gaggles, social media and direct work with reporters.
