Hollywood prince Max Landis (son of “Animal House” director John Landis) has been accused by eight women of sexual assault, rape, and emotional abuse.

A report published The Daily Beast Tuesday details allegations that the “Bright” and “Chronicle” screenwriter held a woman down and raped her as part of a demented routine to humiliate her into having sex with him while crying.

“Two of the women spoke on the record, and another five were identified by pseudonyms. An eighth woman confirmed that she filed a police complaint against Landis in 2008, in which she alleged that he had sexually assaulted her while she was drunk and incapacitated,” reports Fox News. “The case was later dropped.”

Julie, a former ex-girlfriend of Max Landis, said she came upon the screenwriter through a group he started that featured dozens of Hollywood kids who had come from different states to make it in the industry. She described several occasions in which he would emotionally abuse her in front of people.

“[Landis would] bring up his hand and fake that he was going to hit me, and laugh when I flinched,” Julie said in a statement. “He’d constantly threaten to break up with me, speak about his ‘prospects’ to me and openly flirt in front of me. On multiple occasions he’d refer to me as his ex-girlfriend in front of girls at parties we’d go to together as a couple. He’d openly critique my body in front of people and tell me privately that I had the potential to be ‘so hot’ if I committed to working out more. He’d graphically describe sex with his ex-girlfriends and rate their abilities compared to mine, both to me and to his friends and work associates.”

But that’s the least of his behavior, according to Julie. Beyond the emotional abuse, Landis also allegedly choked her violently to the point of passing out, after which he would have sex with her. Seeing her cry was allegedly arousing to him, she says. From her statement:

He showed me abuse and humiliation porn and constantly tested my boundaries—this became murkier and murkier as our relationship got more tumultuous, as I grew to view sex with him as the only way to receive love and connect. This lead to me allowing myself to become more and more abused. He claimed that seeing me cry was a turn-on—this later turned into a routine of him yelling and humiliating me until I cried, then having sex with me while I continued to cry with no regard or effort to make things right. He’d instigate fights, belittle and upset me, just so he could have sex with me, and the real, legitimate fights ended the same way. He choked me until I passed out and did humiliating, degrading things to me that I still can’t manage to write out on paper.

He continued to violate my boundaries into even after our relationship, and if any of this still feels like a blurred lines scenario let me assure you that he did hold me down and rape me while I said ‘no’ over and over. Afterwards I punched him in the shoulder and I told him, ‘When someone says no, you’re supposed to stop. What you just did is what they call rape.’ He said he thought we were playing a game, and that I liked it. He didn’t care.

Another woman, Ani Baker, told The Daily Beast, that Landis routinely tried to pursue a sexual relationship with her even though they had broken up. One time, he violently threatened her when she playfull slapped his rear.

“He turned around and he put his hands around my throat and he got very close to my face and he said, ‘I will f—ing kill you. Do you understand what I’m saying? I will f—ing kill you,'” she told The Daily Beast.

As a result of the report, Landis has been let go from multiple projects, a career fallout that has been snowballing for over year, as rumors of his behavior has spread around Hollywood. Multiple industry insiders have expressed no surprise in hearing of the allegations and believe they match his behavior. “Chronicle” director Josh Trank, for instance, announced on Twitter that he banned Landis from being on set in 2012 and has not spoken with the screenwriter since.

“I 100% believe every word of this article about Max,” said Trank. “I banned him from visiting principal photography of Chronicle, and I haven’t spoken to him since 2012. To read about the terror he’s inflicted on so many women since then makes me sick to my stomach. Heartbroken beyond measure.”
