President Trump is going off the rails on this “crazy train” that is the emerging cycle of 2020 Democratic Party presidential candidate debates.
After hilariously trolling the debate from the comforts of his Twitter account last night when the moderators had to cut to commercial due to a mic glitch, the president resumed his troll routine on Thursday morning when he tweeted a doctored video of the whole incident with a little Ozzy Osborne thrown in for good measure. Take a look:
People on social media had a good time with it. But as always, the president had his share of hecklers.
“S**t happens! Just like you! Your administration is lights out too!” said Canadian talk show host Frank D’Angelo. “You are a colossal power failure! You Delusional treasonous pathological liar f***ing moron conman rancid fishlips incompetent corrupt clueless A***OLE!”
“I can’t believe that Donald Trump pays somebody to create these juvenile, pathetic little videos. It’s the definition of fake news because he wants people to believe that this really happened. The man has absolutely no class or scruples,” said another Twitter user.
“You make fun of a technical difficulty? At least they didn’t lose $130 million drone,” said another user.
As The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo reported, the incident began halfway through the debate when moderator Chuck Todd fielded the candidates questions about gun control. Before anyone could answer, they were interrupted by the echoes of chatter reverberating throughout the chamber. After first believing the sounds emanated from the audience, to moderators’ horror, they discovered the source to be backstage where their colleagues had not yet powered their mics off.
“I think we had a little mic issue in the back,” Todd said as he looked around the room. “We have the audience on.”
Todd persisted in questioning the candidates about gun control but the sounds persisted with him, prompting laughs from Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
“What is happening?” Maddow puzzlingly asked.
“We are hearing our colleagues’ audio,” Todd exclaimed. “If the control room can turn off the mics … if the control room can turn off the mics of our previous moderators …”
“You know, we prepared for everything,” Maddow said. “We did not prepare for this.”
“We’re going to take a quick break, we’re gonna get this technical situation fixed,” Todd declared as the broadcast cut to commercial.
Immediately, President Trump seized the opportunity to trash NBC for allowing the difficulty to happen during a live broadcast as an indication of the network’s ineptitude.
“@NBCNews and @MSNBC should be ashamed of themselves for having such a horrible technical breakdown in the middle of the debate,” Trump tweeted. “Truly unprofessional and only worthy of a FAKE NEWS Organization, which they are!”
