Republicans are urging people to donate to Marianne Williamson’s presidential campaign because they believe she made a mockery of this week’s Democratic debate and hope she will make a mockery of future Democratic debates.

The Democratic National Committee has established strict polling and fundraising requirements for candidates to participate in the primary debates. Candidates must not only register a certain amount of support in the polls, but they must also receive donations from at least 65,000 unique donors.

Williamson, who said during her debate Thursday that she would “harness love” to defeat President Donald Trump, will need all the support she can muster to remain eligible for debates.

Republican strategist Jeff Roe, who ran Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) 2016 presidential campaign, is working to ensure Williamson meets the donations requirement, calling on Republicans to donate $1 to Williamson’s campaign.

Several people responded to Roe’s call-to-action with receipts proving they donated to Williamson’s campaign.

The next Democratic debate is slated to take place next month. Candidates will again compete in separate debates.

However, for the next round of debates in September, the DNC will double the entrance requirements, meaning candidates will need 2 percent of support in the polls, and at least 130,000 unique donors.
