Booming job growth …

Month after month, the media continue trying to downplay the Trump economy. And month after month, the numbers prove them wrong. On Friday, job numbers for July were released, showing robust job growth across the board. Despite the naysayers, job growth is booming.

Here are some of the highlights of the jobs numbers:

On CNBC, economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin explained why Democrats, and by extension their media allies, don’t talk about the economy. According to Holtz-Eakin, it’s “because they have nothing to say.”

If the economy stays booming for the next 18 months, Donald Trump will have a much easier shot at reelection. The media and Democrats know this. That’s why they continue trying to downplay it.

WaPo’s Russian burger …

Since the beginning of the Russian collusion hoax, we’ve known that it’s a nothingburger. Now the Washington Post magazine is trying another way to tie Donald Trump to Russia: through the choice of his favorite fast-food meal, the all-American hamburger.

You’ll need to forgive the Post; as nothing else seems to stick on Trump, they needed to come up with yet another — absolutely ridiculous — way to bring up Russian collusion. So they’ve woven an unbelievable yarn about how the Soviet Union adopted the hamburger and tied it to Trump’s love of the meal.

Here’s the main point of the article:

But peel back the oil-spattered pages of history, and you’ll find that the sandwich so closely aligned with the stars and stripes was once also embraced by the hammer and sickle. (Yep, like so much about this current administration, even Trump’s beloved hamburgers have surprising ties to Russia.) In the 1930s, when McDonald’s was just a greasy twinkle in Ray Kroc’s eye — he didn’t open his first McDonald’s until 1955 — the Soviet Union was a couple of decades out from its revolution and in the midst of industrialization and urbanization on a staggering scale. Tens of millions left the countryside for the cities, as feudal farmers transformed into urban Soviet workers. And these workers needed to be fed.

I’m not laughing at the Post, I’m laughing with you about the ridiculous lengths the media will go to in order to spin up a tale of Russian collusion.

It’s absolutely absurd.
