Maricopa Republicans have censured former RINO Sen Jeff Flake. Flake, who like John McCain before him tried to hide his liberal views from the voters by placing an (R) behind his name. He endorsed Joe Biden for president. On January 23rd a second vote will be taken to censure Cindy McCain, who is every bit the liberal that her husband, the late John McCain was.
Flake, who served as a Senator from Arizona passed on running for reelection as he was as popular as rattlesnake bites in Arizona. He did not run to save himself the embarrassment of losing by an incredibly large majority.
Several faux Republicans have done the same. See Justin Amash. Unless I miss my guess, we will see much more of that in the midterm elections in 2022.
Originally the GOP announced that Cindy McCain had been censured too but it was later corrected and noted the vote on her is scheduled for January 23rd. It is likely that will just be a formality. John McCain was none too popular himself among true conservatives. and Cindy is probably less popular than he was.
Some confusion centered around the purported inclusion of Cindy McCain, wife of the late Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain, in the censure resolution. While Arizona’s Republican Party tweeted initially that McCain had been censured, they later corrected the news, stating that McCain’s censure was discussed and even cheered, but the resolution to censure Flake couldn’t “be amended from the floor.”
The @MaricopaGOP has voted and passed a resolution to censure Cindy McCain. The Arizona Republican Party has no comment on the county’s resolution. The state party will vote on a similar resolution at our annual meeting on January 23, 2021.

I think that Republicans should go after more of these closet liberals such as Rep Adam Kinzinger, Sen Ben Sasse and Chris Christie. Drive them into the Democratic party.
It would be addition by subtraction. We really don’t benefit from them. We should add Sen Lisa Murkowski to the mix.
Replace them with real Republicans.
