The following is a transcript of Todd’s morning radio commentary:

Hello Americans. I’m Todd Starnes with news and commentary next.

The Centers for Disease Control released its Easter holiday guidelines — but they forgot to include the word Easter.

Instead, the guidelines, which were updated on March 18th, reference a generic holiday.

But there’s nothing generic about Easter – remembering the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord.

The CDC says you should consider attending a religious ceremony online instead of in person. And limit traditional meals to immediate family members. Gotta stay six feet away from Cousin Imogene, too.

As for Easter Egg Hunts?

Well, the CDC says egg hunts are permissible so long as you wear a mask and are socially distant, television station KDKA reports.

It’s almost laughable that the CDC thinks they have the right to tell Americans how to celebrate any holiday, much less Easter. But the government craves power.

I can’t speak for the CDC but the Starnes family will be celebrating Easter Sunday at church followed by a delicious meal of honey baked ham, potato salad, and deviled eggs. Capped off with a day of hunting plastic Easter eggs filled with chocolate bunnies.

And to show there are no hard feelings, if health department agents come knocking on my door — I’ll be glad to fix them a plate.
