The New York Times is being slammed over a headline describing President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion infrastructure spending plan.
“BIDEN PLAN STRESSES JOBS, ROADS AND GROWTH,” the headline published by the paper on Thursday read above an article outlining the president’s recent spending push.
“Brazen, cartoonish, straight-up propaganda,” Federalist senior editor Mollie Hemingway tweeted in response to the headline. “As if written by White House staff for the most gullible and easily controlled idiots in the country.”
“Gee, are there taxes involved?” Breitbart News editor Joel Pollak tweeted.
“These sweeping tax hikes would kill jobs and hold down wages at the worst possible time, as Americans try to dig out from the pandemic,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement, referring to the bill earlier in the day as a “Trojan horse.”
Polling suggests the plan is popular with voters, with 54% of registered voters endorsing it in a Morning Consult/Politico poll this week.
