People around the world are once again celebrating Easter amid the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions.

South Korea’s largest Protestant church, Yoido Full Gospel Church, permitted around 2,000 individuals to attend its service. The number represents about 17% of the main building’s capacity, according to the Associated Press ,which reported that the service was shared online and by Christian TV channels. Myeongdong Catholic Cathedral in Seoul restricted attendance to 20% capacity and also livestreamed.

Some Pentecostals in South Africa nixed plans for a three-day retreat beginning on Good Friday, according to the outlet, which noted: “On the hills overlooking Soweto, a Johannesburg township, Apostolic Pentecostals gathered in small groups Sunday to mark Easter. The pandemic, with night-time curfew, made the retreat impossible,” the AP reported.

At the Vatican only about 200 were permitted to attend the Mass with Pope Francis in St. Peter’s Basilica.
