Sen. Joe Manchin on Wednesday expressed discomfort with the price tag of President Biden’s massive multi-trillion dollar agenda.

The nation’s legislature last month passed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill and is now considering the president’s $2.3 trillion American Jobs Plan and $1.8 trillion American Families Plan, according to The Hill.

“It’s a lot of money, a lot of money,” Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat, said to reporters, according to the outlet. “That makes you very uncomfortable.”

When asked whether the president’s proposals need to be completely paid for, the lawmaker said, “I don’t know how much more debt” the nation should accumulate, according to The Hill. “We’re at $28.2 trillion now, debt, so you have to be very careful. There’s a balance to be had here,” Manchin said.
