An armed suspect was shot by law enforcement outside CIA headquarters on Monday after he emerged from a vehicle with a weapon, officials said.
According to a tweet from the FBI Washington Field Office, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. Monday.
FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting that occurred at approx. 6 pm on Monday, May 3, 2021. An individual involved in a security incident outside Central Intelligence Agency HQ in McLean, VA, emerged from his vehicle with a weapon & was engaged by law enforcement officers.

The suspect was wounded and has been transported to a hospital for medical attention, the FBI said.
NBC and CNN reported that the suspect was involved in an hours-long standoff with police after he tried to drive into the CIA facility without proper access. Two officials told NBC the man was mentally disturbed and had tried to enter the CIA campus previously.
