House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy addressed the nation from the US Capitol Thursday after the CDC recommended face-masks for some vaccinated Americans; saying the organization has become a “political arm of the administration.”

“We have a country in crisis. A recent poll shows our optimism about this country’s direction has plummeted 20 points since May. This should surprise no one,” said McCarthy. “Every time they go to the grocery store, they’re paying more. Every time they turn on the news, they’re seeing crime.”

“Every time the CDC releases new guidance, it punishes Americans who have already done everything they’ve been asked to do,” he added. “The CDC has become a political arm of the administration. It wants to control every element of our lives.”

McCarthy ripped Speaker Nancy Pelosi Wednesday after the top Democrat called him a “moron” for questioning the reinstated mask mandate in the House of Representatives but not Senate.

“He’s such a moron,” said Pelosi as she entered her SUV near the Capitol complex.

“If she’s so brilliant, can she explain to me where the science in the building changes between the House and the Senate,” fired-back McCarthy.

Masks will once-again be required for all people in the House of Representatives just one month after relaxing the rules to comply with new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control.

“To be clear, for meetings in an enclosed US House of Representatives controlled space, masks are REQUIRED,” a letter from the Capitol Hill physician, Brian Monahan, reads.

“For the Congress, representing a collection of individuals traveling weekly from various risk areas (both high and low rates of disease transmission), all individuals should wear a well-fitted, medical-grade filtration mask (for example an ear loop surgical mask or a KN95 mask) when they are in an interior space,” Monahan added.

BACKLASH: McCarthy, Meadows RIP Pelosi’s ‘Sham’ Impeachment Inquiry Vote

posted by Hannity Staff – 10.29.19

Representatives Kevin McCarthy and Mark Meadows slammed Nancy Pelosi’s impending impeachment inquiry vote this week; calling the entire process a “sham.”

“It’s been 34 days since Nancy Pelosi unilaterally declared her impeachment inquiry. Today’s backtracking is an admission that this process has been botched from the start. We will not legitimize the Schiff/Pelosi sham impeachment,” posted McCarthy on social media.

“House Democrats now suddenly saying they’ll vote on an impeachment resolution to ‘ensure transparency’ is rich—considering they’ve spent weeks conducting interviews in secret, leaking their own talking points while locking down any and all information that benefits the President,” added Meadows.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi confirmed Monday that she will call a vote to “formalize” impeachment proceedings against President Trump on Thursday.

“The resolution — which ‘establishes the procedure for hearings,’ according to a statement by Speaker Nancy Pelosi — will mark the first floor vote on impeachment since Democrats formally launched their inquiry a month ago,” reports Politico.

“We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump Administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said in a letter.

BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE: Freedom Caucus Urges GOP to Attempt to Remove Pelosi as Speaker

posted by Hannity Staff – 7.26.21

Members of the House Freedom Caucus urged Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to attempt to remove Nancy Pelosi as Speaker Friday after the top Democrat rejected two of his picks to serve on the January 6th Committee.

“Speaker Pelosi’s tenure is destroying the House of Representatives and our ability to faithfully represent the people we are here to serve,” the Freedom Caucus members wrote to McCarthy.

“Speaker Pelosi’s refusal to seat Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Jim Banks on the Select Committee to Investigate January 6 is intolerable. … Republicans under your leadership must show the American people that we will act to protect our ability to represent their interests,” added the legislators.

“This is a sham committee that’s just politically driven by Speaker Pelosi,” McCarthy said Thursday.

“This has always been about politics, and today’s actions by the Speaker just confirm that,” said Jordan during a press briefing shortly after Pelosi’s decision. “What else are they going to talk about? Crime? The border crisis? Can’t talk about that. Are they going to talk about inflation?” he asked. “So, they’re going to focus on this. I don’t think they’re going to address the fundamental question: Why wasn’t there a proper security presence at the Capitol that day.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer praised Pelosi’s decision to block Jordan while appearing on ‘The View.’

“I couldn’t believe that Leader McCarthy put [forward] two people who said basically — who really didn’t believe, who sort of supported the big lie that did all this, you know that the election was stolen and Donald Trump should really be president, which has no factual basis. So she was right not to let them stay on the commission,” said Schumer.
