The first blockbuster of the NFL trade deadline has arrived.
The Broncos are trading star pass rusher Von Miller to the Rams in exchange for two draft picks, according to multiple reports.
Los Angeles is sending Denver a second-round pick and third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, according to ESPN. The Broncos will also reportedly pay $9 million of Miller’s remaining $9.7 million salary.
Miller, a former Super Bowl MVP, now joins a defense with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. All three could be Hall of Famers when their careers are said and done.
The 32-year-old Miller, who is set to make his Rams debut on Sunday night against the Titans, has had another strong season in Denver, accruing 4.5 sacks and 19 tackles through seven games. He has only had one season in ten tries with under eight sacks.
It’s clear the Rams are going all-in on the 2021 season, with quarterback Matthew Stafford engineering a top-five offense under Sean McVay. Pairing Miller with Donald and Leonard Floyd now gives them perhaps the most lethal pass rush in the NFL.
