Was it really that hard to do the research?

A new book from National Geographic author and Egyptologist Kara Cooney falsely accuses Kyle Rittenhouse of crimes he wasn’t even on trial for. Somehow in her book The Good Kings, Cooney ties Egyption history to a totally fabricated version of the Rittenhouse account.

“Consider Kyle Rittenhouse,” Cooney writes, “who used his semiautomatic weapon to kill two Black men in Kenosha, Wisconsin while waging a glorious war on behalf of his inherited White power.”

News anchor Kara McKinney Tweeted a screenshot of the outlandish page containing the ridiculous claim. “I’m literally wheezing this is so funny. This is the last chapter of ‘Good Kings’ by Egyptologist Kara Cooney. I’ll say this delicately… she’s not the brightest and it shows.”

To her credit, Cooney responded to the error, saying “Yes. This was my mistake. And caught too late for printing. Apologies. I stand by the sentiment of white supremacy, however,” Cooney tweeted in response.

Here’s a thought…

“Ms. Cooney failed to do any thorough research for this so-called book. Her greatest accomplishment is perpetuating a terrible lie that almost ruined a person’s life.”

Put that on the book jacket.
