This is the second staff member to leave this week.

Peter Velz, Vice President Harris’ director of press operations, has announced his departure from Team Harris —the latest staffer on a long list to quit on the Veep.

“Today is my last day at the White House, and it truly has been an honor. I will be forever grateful to Vice President Harris, the incredible Team @VP, and I’m so proud of our work this past year supporting this historic Administration,” Velz tweeted.

“The White House is an amazing place to work — you’re surrounded by the most selfless, smart, hard-working people everyday doing their best to serve the American people. And it has been an absolute joy.”

Earlier this week, Harris lost Vincent Evans, deputy director of public engagement and intergovernmental affairs; Evans took a job as the Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Harris can’t seem to keep anyone on staff and is currently experiencing an approval rating freefall —the worst numbers recorded for a modern Vice President.

A recent USA Today/Suffolk poll has her at just 28%.
