This is real.
Teachers at NYC’s Upper West Side M.S. 243 Center school thought it would be appropriate to stage a musical number promoting vaccinations while ostracizing families with religious objections. Students held signs insulting conservative viewpoints with messages like “I Fear GOD, Not COVID, and “I Am Not a Science Experiment.”
Parents were —understanbly and predictably—outraged. Particularly because 1 out of 5 students at the school are not vaccinated. One parent wrote a letter to the superintendent, excerpts below:
“A song which makes vaccination a precondition for friendship discriminates against 1 out of 5 students at Center school, including some students who had to participate in this skit!”
“How is it acceptable for a teacher, or teachers, to promote an agenda which encourages some children to turn against other children at the same school? And when did it become acceptable for teachers to place their own agenda above the emotional needs of the students they are hired to instruct?”

Update: the superintendent of Manhattan D3, to her credit, called us immediately and said she was appalled. The matter was sent to the special investigations commissioner. And @gregpiper of @JustTheNews reached out and published the story: https://t.co/ylhjWsTKyY
