Louis C.K. took home a Grammy at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards Sunday for Best Comedy Album despite attempts and calls to cancel him after he admitted to several sexual misconduct allegations.

During the 2022 Grammy awards, the 54-year-old actor and comedian won a Grammy for his surprise album “Sincerely Louis C.K.,” five years after sexual harassment allegations surfaced against him, reported Yahoo.com in a piece published Sunday.

The “Louie” star beat out other superstar comedians in the same category such as Kevin Hart, Chelsea Handler, and Lavell Crawford, reported RollingStone.com.

After the comedian won, the Recording Academy posted a message on Twitter that read, “Congrats Best Comedy Album winner – ‘Sincerely Louis CK’ Louis C.K.”

As previously reported by The Daily Wire, the “Sorry” star was nominated for a Grammy along with Dave Chappelle back in November, both of whom have faced being canceled for various reasons:

When the Recording Academy announced the nominations for 64th annual Grammy awards on Tuesday, the two comedians, who have both faced criticism and controversy for different reasons, were among the honorees.

Chappelle, who has been targeted by trans activists over jokes they deem “transphobic,” received a “Best Spoken Word Album” nomination for his Netflix special “8:46,” a comedy set he delivered in his hometown of Yellow Springs, Ohio, immediately following George Floyd’s death.

Other nominees in the category also touch on the subject of racial strife.

LeVar Burton is included for his narration of “Aftermath,” his dystopian novel that imagines a new civil war in the future. Don Cheadle is nominated for his reading of “Carry On: Reflections for A New Generation From John Lewis,” a biography on the late senator and civil rights activist. Black poet J. Ivey made the cut with, “Catching Dreams: Live At Fort Knox Chicago” Finally, Barack Obama received a nod for “A Promised Land,” a memoir of his time in the White House.

At the height of the #MeToo movement, C.K. admitted that several sexual misconduct allegations reported by The New York Times — that he “had masturbated in front of non-consenting women multiple times over a period of years” — were true, as reported previously by The Daily Wire.

“At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my d*** without asking first,” the comedian shared. “But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d*** isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.”

“There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for,” he added. “And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with. … The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else. And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them.”
