It’s not even June yet and already corporations are signaling their allegiance to the progressive LGBT agenda.

The latest seemingly unaffiliated brand to come out in support of the cause is none other than Oreo Cookie, which has been owned by the multinational food and beverage conglomerate Mondelez International since 2012.

The marketing team at Oreo couldn’t wait until “Pride Month” to put out a new commercial spot which featured a young man coming out as gay to his grandmother.

“Coming out doesn’t happen just once. It’s a journey that needs love and courage every step of the way. Share our new film and let someone know you’re their #LifelongAlly,” the ad’s introduction says.

The accompanying video shows a young man preparing for a visit from his grandmother, who apparently doesn’t know he’s gay. The ad shows him sitting with his family as he studies how to tell his grandmother in their native language by looking at a cheat sheet.

At one point, the young man’s sister eats an Oreo and runs away from the table in anticipation of her grandmother’s reaction. This is the only product placement in the video.

“I think you’re ready,” his mother says to him in a supportive way. At the bottom of his script, she wrote, “She might be my mother, but you are my son.” The video ends with his grandmother arriving at the door.

The ad dropped Monday and is currently being promoted on Twitter by Oreo in partnership with PFLAG, an organization that encourages family members to encourage LGBT family members. It was made by Alice Wu.

The caption says, “Coming out doesn’t happen just once. It’s a journey that needs love and courage every step of the way. Share our new film 👇 and let someone know you’re their #LifelongAlly.”

Reactions were mixed on social media, with many fans and followers wondering why a cookie brand would get involved in the first place.

“It used to be that Oreos just dipped into milk, now they dip into social issues,” Jeremy’s Razors tweeted.

“Your cookie must affirm your sexual lifestyle,” Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro said in response to the ad. “Again, the chief reply here seems to be: ‘How dare you notice that a cookie company is now running ads on sexual orientation?’ Guys, the story is that every woke corporation now believes it must become an activist LGBTQIA+-%6& outlet. And yes, that’s a story.”

Companies and prominent figures have voiced their opposition to the recently passed HB 1557 in Florida, also called the Parental Rights in Education bill. Critics have been calling it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and erroneously claiming it infringes on LGBT rights of free speech. The bill prohibits classroom instruction on so-called gender identity and sexual orientation for children in kindergarten through third grade.
