In a recent article, Stand for Health Freedom outlines threats to our health rights emanating from the state of Illinois. This group is a nonprofit, “dedicated to protecting basic human rights, constitutional rights, and parental rights.” At the outset, these authors posit that Illinois’ government has a “plan to export medical tyranny nationwide….” Noting the state’s reputation for corruption, the piece points out that it has imposed draconian COVID-19 restrictions on residents and visitors. And now this state is advancing a program that would dominate the nation’s public health systems via a disease-testing “surveillance regime.” Under a compliance program called, “Do the Do,” officials are seeking to coerce folks into unwanted medical interventions. Uncovered by a FOIA request, the plan calls for citizens to be trained that if they must “Do” something, e.g., get vaccinated, in order to “Do” what they want, e.g., go out to eat. The mechanisms needed to support this compliance are now being built, at taxpayer expense. In the first two months of 2022, Chicago started a “Do to Do” policy. Folks had to show proof of vaccine or a negative test in order to “do” things like, “participate in a variety of indoor activities including going to the gym, attending a movie or show, or visiting a museum.”
