It’s official —Jen Psaki is out as White House press secretary. Psaki will reportedly head to MSNBC for a new gig.

“I want to thank all of you in this room. You have challenged me, you have pushed me, you have debated me and at times we have disagreed. That is democracy in action,” Psaki said on Friday. “That is it working. Without accountability, without debate, government is not as strong.”

President Biden issued a statement prior to Psaki’s departure.

“Jen Psaki has set the standard for returning decency, respect and decorum to the White House Briefing Room,” Biden said. “I want to say thank you to Jen for raising the bar, communicating directly and truthfully to the American people, and keeping her sense of humor while doing so,” he added. “I thank Jen her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward.”

Biden announced Psaki’s replacement, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, last week.

“Karine not only brings the experience, talent and integrity needed for this difficult job, but she will continue to lead the way in communicating about the work of the Biden-Harris Administration on behalf of the American people,” Biden remarked. “Jill and I have known and respected Karine a long time and she will be a strong voice speaking for me and this Administration.”

Fox News’ Peter Doocy updated his Twitter account for the first time in years to offer long-time sparring partner Jen Psaki a proper send off.

“End of an er in the Brady briefing room! Good luck, @jrpsaki.”
