The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg weighed in on the Archbishop of San Francisco’s decision to ban Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi from receiving communion in response to her pro-abortion politics; Whoopi says “that’s not your job, dude.”
“The Archbishop of San Francisco is calling for speaker Nancy Pelosi to be denied receiving communion because of her pro-choice stance,” Goldberg said. “He’s one of the priests who also called for President Biden to be denied the sacrament.”
“This is not your job, dude,” Goldberg said, addressing the Archbishop. “That is not up to you to make that decision. What is the saying? It’s kind of amazing. What is the point of communion? It’s for sinners. It’s the reward of saints but the bread of sinners.”
“How dare you?” she asked.
Last week, San Fran Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone told Pelosi “you are not to present yourself at Holy Communion.”
“In light of my responsibility as the Archbishop of San Francisco … I am hereby notifying you that you are not to present yourself for Holy Communion and, should you do so, you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion, until such time as you publicly repudiate your advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance,” Cordileone said.
