One of the most alarming aspects of the entire ongoing transgender debate, aside from the environment of indoctrination in our public schools, has been the trend of doctors being willing to medically intervene in the normal development of children to support their “transition.” These interventions come in multiple forms, all of which can and do carry potential negative consequences for children. They include regular injections of unnatural hormones and even genital mutilation surgery and mastectomies. But perhaps even more alarming is the growing “popularity” of administering so-called “puberty-blocking” drugs to very young children as a way to prevent their natural gender from developing. Prominent American medical associations that have been infected with wokeness have largely remained silent about this practice. But perhaps that is starting to change. The FDA recently added a warning to the most commonly prescribed puberty-blockers, saying that they can cause “serious risks” for children who take them. (KATV News)

Earlier this month, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration added a warning to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, commonly known as “puberty blockers,” indicating there were serious risks for youth who take them.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified six cases in females between the ages of 5 and 12, who were taking GnRH agonists, which presented “a plausible association between GnRH agonist use and pseudotumor cerebri.”

Pseudotumor cerebri, also known as idiopathic intracranial hypertension, occurs when the pressure inside your skull spontaneously increases, which can cause brain swelling, severe headaches, nausea, double vision, and even permanent vision loss, according to the Mayo Clinic.

We’ve been saying this here for years. There were never any studies done to determine the effects of these drugs on otherwise healthy children. They were only approved by the FDA to be used for short periods to treat precocious puberty. Now that studies are finally being done, the truth is coming out.

The most common of these gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs is Zoladex, which will now need to carry this warning. And there are many doctors around the country who will have a lot of explaining to do when confronted about why they’ve been giving these drugs to otherwise healthy children. Brain swelling and permanent vision loss are not “minor” side effects. Even if this only happens in a relatively small percentage of patients, the risk of performing these types of mad science experiments on youths is unacceptable.

How this hasn’t already been classified as medical malpractice (not to mention child abuse) is a mystery to me. The human body in both males and females evolved to go through natural puberty at a specific stage of development. It’s a completely normal process that affects far more than just the development of sexual organs and reproductive capability. The shift in hormonal balance triggers other changes, such as the slowing of growth in the limbs. Blocking these changes from happening opens the door to more problems than just the side effects of this medicine.

When the FDA is done establishing guidelines for puberty-blockers, perhaps they could turn their attention to genital mutilation surgery on healthy children’s bodies. That type of surgery, particularly in the male-to-female version violates one of the most fundamental tenets of ethical medical practice. First do no harm. That surgery creates a permanent condition of having an open wound on the body that will require continual medical attention for the entire life of the child. And it is not reversible if the patient realizes at a later date that they have made a terrible mistake and decide to “detransition.”

If you’re an adult, go ahead and do whatever you want to your own body, assuming you can find a doctor willing to go along with it. Just be ready to live with the consequences of your own decisions. But we’re talking about children here who are not legally considered able to give informed consent to much of anything, including procedures as minor as getting a tattoo. Allowing them to make the choice to undergo irreversible genital mutilation shouldn’t just be considered malpractice. It should be labeled as a monstrosity.
