In the weird new world of ranked voting in Alaska, both Lisa Murkowski and Kelly Tshibaka both will advance to the general election as well as two others, one of which is yet to be determined.

Here’s the latest in the Senate election results:

I hate the fact that Murkowski ended the night with the most votes because it says to me her chances of winning in November to keep her seat are very good.

But that being said, there are enough votes out there from other candidates to push Tshibaka over the top if they all went to her, which seems unlikely, but you never know.

It also appears, based on these results, that #4 will be a Republican too, assuming that’s how it works. If that’s the case it could further complicate Tshibaka’s quest to defeat Murkowski.

Sarah Palin has also advanced to the general in her House race:

Once again it appears that ranked choice voting in this case could benefit the Democrat, with possibly 3 of the 4 being Republicans.

Alaska, please don’t let America down!
