Russia attacked Ukraine with Iran-made kamikaze drones in the Kyiv region and reportedly fired missiles at civilian targets on Thursday.

Ukrainian officials said Iranians in Russian-occupied territories were training Russian soldiers how to use Shahed-136 systems, drones that can carry out air-to-surface attacks, The Associated Press reported.

“We are dealing with terrorists,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier this week, according to The Times of Israel.

“Dozens of missiles and Iranian Shaheds. They have two targets. Energy facilities throughout the country … [and] people,” he said.

Russia claimed to have attacked more than 70 Ukrainian energy facilities this week.

Moscow has expanded its attacks on civilian areas of Ukraine over the past several weeks as the Kremlin has been losing ground to Ukrainian forces.
