Former President Trump made multiple public responses Thursday to the Democrat-led select House Jan. 6 on the panel unanimously voting in favor of subpoenaing him to testify – including posts on Truth Social in which he rhetorically asked: “Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months earlier?”

“Because the committee is a total “BUST” that has only served to further divide our country,” he continued.

The committee on Thursday held what is expected to be its final public hearing on the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and took the vote at the conclusion of the meeting.

“It is our obligation to seek Donald Trump’s testimony,” committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said afterward.

The committee is made up of nine members including two Republicans – Reps. Liz Cheney, of Wyoming, and Adam Kinzinger, of Illinois. It will conclude its investigation at the end of this congressional session, which is in early January.

Trump reportedly is considering testifying if can do it live. He said in a later post on Truth Social, his social media platform, that he’ll make his decision at 8 a.m. Friday.

Legal experts say forcing the former president to testify will be difficult.
