Arizona GOP secretary of state candidate Mark Finchem said Arizonans want fair elections and the certainty that their votes will be counted.

“You’ve got citizens now who’ve said, ‘Enough is enough,'” Finchem said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “We have seen people stuffing handfuls of ballots into ballot drop boxes and we want to have a secure and fair election now.”

Finchem asserted that fraud occurred in the counties that made insufficient efforts to secure the ballot boxes.

“The county didn’t take the step of securing those drop boxes,” he stated. “So you’ve heard me say it before. I’ll say it again: Elections belong to the people, they don’t belong to the government bureaucracy.”

The Republican pointed to a new app, VotifyNow, that allows citizens to report suspicious activity at the polls.

“It’s an app that people can put on either Android or iPhone,” Finchem explained. “And if they see something, they can literally say something. They can create an incident report and upload that into a national database of incidents. What we’re trying to do is document irregularities in the system. Now, we have evidence pouring in from all over the country.”

He further addressed media criticism of his assertions and their label of him as an “election skeptic,” saying “[t]hey’re calling me an election skeptic. Well, actually, there’s about two thirds of the nation that are election skeptics.”
