David DePape, the suspect in the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, waived his right to a speedy trial and pleaded not guilty to state charges Wednesday.

In court for the attack on Paul Pelosi, DePape only said one word, “yes,” when asked about whether he was waiving his right to a quick trial, CNN reported. He is expected back in San Francisco superior court in February for his trial date to be set.

He had already pleaded not guilty last month to the state charges, which include attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and threats to a public official.

The next hearing on DePape’s litany of federal charges is set for Feb. 8.

DePape, 42, allegedly broke into the Pelosis’ San Francisco home in October and brutally attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer.
