After 718 days living in the White House (during which he took 53 trips to Delaware), and after 4.7 million immigrants have crossed illegally, Mr. Biden finally visited the U.S. southern border (at El Paso, Texas) on Sunday for the very first time.

The two questions that keep coming to everyone’s mind is: What took so long? And will he finally do something – anything – to stop the skyrocketing criminals and criminalities pouring into our country there?

The Center Square rightfully summarized, “December was another record month for Border Patrol agents tasked with apprehending foreign nationals illegally entering the U.S. through the southwest border. Agents apprehended at least 226,050 people and reported at least 87,631 who evaded capture by law enforcement last month. Combined, they total at least 313,681 – an increase from November’s record breaking number of 306,069. This is after a record number of apprehensions and gotaways were recorded in fiscal 2022 of over 3.3 million.”

For those who are unaware, which is most Americans, there have been hordes more crossing our southern border than just those seeking asylum over the past two years.

Consider that, in just the month of September 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported the following in its “Monthly Operational Update“:

TRENDING: Mayorkas at the helm

  • There have also been 98 arrests of people on the FBI’s Terror Watchlist in FY ’22, which quadrupled the 26 arrests in five previous years combined (FY ’17-21).
  • Encounters of unaccompanied children increased 5%, with 11,900 encounters in September alone, compared with 11,341 in August. In September, the average number of unaccompanied children in CBP custody was 485 per day, compared with an average of 422 per day in August. [Where are their parents?!]
  • CBP targeted 491 entries for suspected use of forced labor in the production of imported goods.
  • CBP reported that intellectual property rights violations continue to put America’s innovation economy at risk. Trade in counterfeit and pirated goods threaten the competitiveness of U.S. businesses, the livelihoods of American workers, and the health and safety of consumers. CBP seized nearly 1,623 shipments that contained counterfeit goods valued at more than $205 million.
  • Regarding illegal drugs, methamphetamine seizure increased 43%, heroin seizures increased 73%. [I will discuss fentanyl smuggling below.]

In just the first eight months of 2022, U.S. Border Patrol arrested 8,354 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions , including sex offenders, rapists and child predators. (Read that again and think about that number of criminals proliferating the U.S. What about those gotaways or not caught?)

And if you think those numbers are no higher than in the previous administration, think again.

National Review contributing editor Deroy Murdock, whose parents were born in Costa Rica and is a first-generation native of Los Angeles and now resident of New York City, gathered the most-current border-crisis statistics that every American needs to know.

Murdock reported, “Border Patrol agents apprehended 951,568 illegal aliens during President Donald Trump’s final 19 months in office (July 1, 2019, through Jan. 31, 2021 – including Biden’s first 11 days). In Biden’s first full 19 months as president (Feb. 1, 2021, through Aug. 31, 2022), Border Patrol encountered a staggering 3,588,877 illegals – up a sickening 377 percent.”

Murdock said, “Under Biden, Border Patrol apprehended 15 [terrorists] in FY 2021 and a terrifying 78 [terrorists] in FY 2022, through Aug. 31; How many terrorists got away? Who knows?”

Murdock added, “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security reports that the Mexican cartels’ income from smuggling illegal aliens into America has soared from $500 million in 2018 to $13 billion this year – up 2,500 percent!”

With Biden’s open-door immigration policy, Mexican cartels have become the richest and most powerful cartels in the world, with their tentacles reaching further and further into the U.S., especially with so many Americans’ insatiable appetites for drugs and sex trafficking.

It’s a fact: Rates of fentanyl fatalities have doubled among U.S. teens alone, and easily-accessed laced pills manufactured in Mexico and purchased on social media are to blame.

Murdock explained, “Fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine. Two milligrams in one pill can kill. The 12 tons of fentanyl that have gushed into America during Biden’s tenure equal 5.46 billion fatal doses – enough to kill the entire U.S. population of 333.2 million people 16.4 times.

“Fentanyl killed some 71,000 Americans in 2021, up 23 percent versus 2020. For those aged 18 to 45, fentanyl leads COVID-19, car wrecks, suicides and every other cause of death.

“Under Trump, Border Patrol’s fentanyl seizures for FY 2019 and ’20 (through Aug. 31) totaled 7,595 pounds. Under Biden’s equivalent dates in FY ’21 and ’22: 24,062 pounds – up 217 percent.”

What’s further alarming and appalling is the skyrocketing increase in sex trafficking across the U.S. southern border, tragically including children.

The Texas Public Policy Foundation reported, “In the U.S.,immigrants, especially immigrant women, make up the largest portion of trafficking victims. The Department of State estimates than in 2016, 57,700 victims had been trafficked into the U.S. annually. The true number is likely much larger and impossible to determine. … Studies done by the Latin American branch of the Coalition Against Trafficking In Women estimates that 60% of Latin American children who set out to cross the border alone or with smugglers have been caught by the cartels and are being abused in child pornography or drug trafficking.”

The CBP reported just before Thanksgiving 2022, “In less than 24 hours, [Texas’s] Del Rio sector agents arrested two child sex offenders.” And by the beginning of December, the Washington Examiner reported, “Border Patrol agents assigned to a remote part of South Texas arrested three [more] sex offenders who had abused children and been previously deported over the Thanksgiving holiday as they attempted to reenter the United States from Mexico illegally.”

How could any president allow such heinous criminals back into our country, especially those that prey upon American children? Do Biden-supporters not care that his open-door policy is enabling over 400 parent-less hyper-vulnerable kids to daily risk life and limb crossing the border under the auspices of ruthless cartels? Do they not care that a record-breaking 266,000 unaccompanied children have crossed the border into the U.S. since Biden started living in the White House? (Fox News’ correspondent Bill Melugin explained via Twitter on Sept. 26: “That’s enough to fill up approximately three Rose Bowls.”)

How blind are Biden and his supporters not to see that his injurious and illicit immigration policies are actually fueling the cartels’ modus operandi and packing the powder-keg for an imminent war with Mexico?

In an interview just this past Friday, Ret. Col. Douglas Macgregor warned there is most definitely a “war with the drug cartels” at the U.S.-Mexico border. He added that the U.S. Army will eventually be needed to fight them and the combat will spill into our country. Macgregor summarized, because Mexican President Obrador is irrelevant and a mouthpiece for the cartels, Mexico is “the only truly existential threat” to America – something verified by Marine Corps Gen. John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, as far back as 2014.

Meanwhile, “U.S. commander in chief” Biden does a “fly by” Sunday to a sanitized area of the U.S. border, bypassing the real epicenter of the border crisis, on his way to Mexico City. Indeed, he mocks his very own oath of office as he does so while allowing countless criminals, terrorists, sexual predators and drug lords to pour (back) into the U.S.!

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Are you kidding me?!

There’s no solace in the innumerable criminals and exponential criminalities Biden has allowed into the U.S. in his 718 days in office. I tremble and grieve for my great Lone Star State and the rest of our country when I consider he still has 743 days left in office.

I completely agree with what a great Texas friend of mine says: “If the borders don’t matter, Americans don’t matter.”
