More than 1,100 flights are delayed Wednesday in the United States after the Federal Aviation Administration’s advisory system suffered an outage.
Shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, at least 1,162 U.S. flights have been delayed, according to data from FlightAware.
“The FAA is working to restore its Notice to Air Missions System. We are performing final validation checks and reloading the system now. Operations across the National Airspace System are affected,” the agency tweeted. “We will provide frequent updates as we make progress.”
The Notice to Air Missions System is used to alert flight operations personnel about essential information.
